The Conference went very well, despite some initial setbacks. We were exceptionally blessed to hear from Steve Happ, founder of World Shine USA, and co-worker with Medad. Steve outlined the current developments in both World Shine Uganda and World Shine USA. It gave us a great opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved so far, and what still needs to be done. Steve’s talk illustrated many different facets of the work in Uganda, which is as much as network as a single organisation. He also shared his story of meeting Medad and Connie when they had travelled to Memphis for the brain surgery of their youngest son, Omega. They formed an immediate bond, which God is using in great ways.
A contingent of supporters from Tonbridge Baptist Church was sadly depleted by illness, and a special mention should go to Connie Burgess who ably stood in for our worship leader Gordon Miller, who was too ill to attend. Those who came, and remained well, described the wonderful accomplishments of the teams from their church who went out in February 2014 and February 2015. They have done much practical work at the WSF School in Rwentobo, as well as funding improvement projects. The Tonbridge supporters are planning another visit to Uganda in February 2016, and a Young People’s mission in July.
Hartmut Kopsch brought us wonderful teaching on the Kingdom of God from the parables of Jesus. We thank God who enables His servants in many different ways for building up the body of Christ.
